Bernard "Bunny" J. Whelan, 73 passed away on Wednesday July 7th.

Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Dolores (Gauvin-Whelan) Sanderson and Bernard A. Whelan.

Bunny was raised in Lincoln and graduated from LaSalle Academy in 1967 after which he entered into the US Navy. Upon leaving the Navy he resided in Pawtucket, Central falls, Lincoln and Cumberland. He spent many years working in various fields of construction and later retired from Waste Management.

He was a member of the American Legion, the Filibuster Club and enjoyed spending time with many friends. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who may have needed it.

He took pride in his gun collection and relished in their history. Bunny was an avid reader who loved the outdoors; spending his time fishing, hunting and visiting the White Mountains annually for more than 25 years.

Bunny is survived by his daughter Tara (Daluk) Lubrano and her husband Flavio of Rehoboth, his son Mark Daluk and his wife Ratana of Cranston. He was brother to Cheryl Fusco and her husband Joe of North Carolina, Dennis Whelan of Lincoln, Lynn McCarthy and her late husband Justin of Cumberland. Grandfather to Olivia Lubrano and Jonathan Daluk. Uncle to Sherri Moore and Jamie Fusco. Visitation is Sunday, July 11th in the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Higginson Ave, Lincoln from 2pm until 4pm. Burial will be private.
