Clarice (Martel) Bloomer, 91, passed away July 12th at the Bayberry Commons Rehabilitation and Nursing Center with her daughters by her side. She was the wife of the late Clifford R. Bloomer for 60 years. Born in Central Falls, she was the daughter of the late Rock P. and Fleurette (Pare)Martel. She spent her younger years in Central Falls and late years in Lincoln.
She is survived by her three daughters and their families Nancy (Bill) Nixon, Jane(Ron)Letourneau and Carol Bloomer Quinn. Six grandchildren, 17 great grand children and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Lorraine Martin, Lionel, Gerald, and George Martel.
Clarice worked many jobs in her lifetime, retiring from Stop&Shop in 1992. Clarice and Cliff liked to travel and did do during their retirement. Through the years she accomplished many things. She Belonged to the Electa Chapter of the Eastern Star where she was Matron in 1972. She and dad volunteered at Northern Rhode Island Mental Health center for 15 years. She was very proud when she obtain her GED at 60 years old. She also sang in the choirs and taught Sunday school at St. Johns Church in Ashton Christ Church in Lonsdale.
My sisters and I would like to thank the dedicated staff at Bayberry. For all the time she lived there they took such good care of her. Bayberry is a very professional, knowledgeable, and compassionate group of people no one will find any where else. Thank you all so much!
Friends and family are invited to visitation on Thursday, July 15 from 4-7pm in the Keefe Funeral Home, Lincoln. Burial will be held in the Veterans cemetery at a later date.
