Antero De Afonseca, 82, of Brava, Cape Verde, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, July 11, 2021. He leaves behind his loving wife, Maria Salome Afonseca, of 50 years.
He was the son of the late Ana De Afonseca and brother of the late Ales De Afonseca and Danielle De Afonseca.
Antero spent many years working in the construction industry and enjoyed playing the clarinet in his free time.
Antero was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend to many. In addition to his wife, he leaves behind his children; Sonia Afonseca, Ligia Afonseca, Suzy Afonseca, Dulcelina Afonseca-Machado, Danilo Afonseca, Durval Afonseca, and Donaldo Afonseca, as well as eighteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Thursday, July 15th at 9 am, followed by a service at 11 am in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln. Burial will follow in Swan Point Cementary, Blackstone Blvd, Providence.
