Betty Jean McCollam Lemieux, 84, was born in Elkins, West Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Willis Lee McCollam and Geraldine Lenore Schectlin McCollam. She was the wife of the late Donald D. Lemieux, Sr. She was the mother of the late Donald D. Lemieux, Jr. and sister to the late Louise Lorraine Kittle, Donna Mae Cochran, Susan Smith, Robert Eugene Smith and James Richard McCollam.
She is survived by her son Dana Lemieux and his wife Maria Pina of Central Falls. Three grandchildren Joseph O’Donnall of Florida, Emma Lemieux of Lincoln RI, Donna Cruz of North Attleboro and her daughter in law Brenda Lemieux.
Betty came to Central Falls in the late 1950s and was employed by Stanley’s Restaurant for several years before being employed by Healthtex. She was a member of the Holy Spirit Parish Choir for more than 30 years. She was very active in the Parish activities like the Spring Festival and the Parish Bazaar. She also was a volunteer at the Camp Ker Ana fundraiser in the summer.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 21st from 2pm until 4pm in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln. Burial will be private in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
