Maria V. Garcia, of Providence, passed away on July 27, 2021 at home. Born in Cayey, Puerto Rico she was a daughter of the late Juan Garcia and Marta V. Capeles Rivera.
Maria worked at the Haven United Methodist Church as the building manager for many years. Afterwards she began as the housekeeper at Beneficent Church in Providence, later becoming the hospitality manager where she scheduled and supported outside groups, before retiring.
She is survived by three children, Juan Orlando Rivera, Richard Junior Rivera, Kamalich Garcia; seven grandchildren, Juan Gabriel Rivera. Kiaralis Rivera, Aumi Israel Martinez, Maliya Grace Virella, Jose Felix Virella, Celena Rose Virella, Cameron Rivera; three sisters, Luz Eneida Garcia Capeles, Carmen Z. Garcia Capeles and Nylsa M. Garcia Capeles. She was the sister of the late Israel Garcia Capeles and Jose Garcia Capeles.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Thursday, August 5th from 5:00 – 7:00pm at Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln, followed by a funeral home service at 7:00pm.
