Oscar Couto Amaral, 82, a resident of Johnston peacefully passed on August 6, 2021. He was the loving husband of late Carminda Amaral for 50 years. Born in Mangualde, Portugal. He was a son of late Antonio Amaral and Augusta Do Couto. He was the brother to late Joao Amaral, Duarte Amaral, and Maria Da Graca Amaral.
He came to the United States in 1970 to give his family a better life. He worked at Union Wadding Company for many years.
He loved making everyone laugh and was passionate about cooking. He loved his potatoes and cabbage dish, a side of salad with his homemade dressing.
He is survived by daughters Maria, Teresa and Susan, sons Manuel and Michael, 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He will be greatly missed.
Calling hours will be Monday, August 9th from 6-8pm in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady Of Fatima Church, Fatima Drive, Cumberland on Tuesday, August 10th at 10am followed by burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery, 153 Curran Road, Cumberland.
All services Saturday begin at the church.
