Maria Liduina (Azevedo) Borges, 83 of Pawtucket, passed away on August 20th at the Our Lady of Fatima Hospital.
Maria Liduina was born on September 6, 1937 in Sao Jorge, Azores, Portugal. She was the daughter of the late Jose Azevedo and Isabele (Marques) Azevedo. Liduina worked at Texas Instruments for many years and retired in 2003. Liduina, who was a communicant of Holy Family Parish, enjoyed crocheting, baking, and working in her garden. However, Liduina’s greatest love was spending time with her family.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Jose Gualter Borges. Liduina is also survived by her children Joseph Borges and wife Grace of Uxbridge, MA, Ana Paula Laginhas and husband Jose of Cumberland, RI. She is survived by her loving grandchildren Julian, Kayleigh, Jeannine, Brittany, Samuel and Adrian. In addition, she is survived by five sisters Arminda, Idalina, Guiomar, Lucia and Analia, along with many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.
She is predeceased by one brother Celestino and three sisters Angela, Humberta, and Maria dos Anjos.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 11:30 am at Our Lady of Fatima, 7 Fatima Drive, Cumberland, RI 02864. Burial will follow at Rumford Cemetery on Wilson Avenue (off of Pawtucket Avenue) in East Providence, RI 02916. Calling hours will be held on Saturday morning from 8:30-10:45am at the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Higginson Ave, Lincoln, RI.
