Joaquim B. Fontes, 90, of Pawtucket RI, passed away peacefully in the loving arms of his wife on August 24th. He was the son of the late Joaquim Fontes and Matilde Monteiro. He leaves behind his loving wife Joaquina Fontes, children Jackie Fernandes and her husband Felix, of Lincoln, Filomena Fontes of Bridgewater,MA and Fatima Veiga and her husband Destafano of Rockland, MA, Ligia Fernandes and her husband Matias of MA, six Grandsons Shyne and Synsere Fernandes, Timilty Veiga, Silvino Fontes, Joaquim Fontes, Maylex Fernandes Six Granddaughters Sarah Freitas, Stephanie Veiga, Emily Veiga, Erica Rodrigues, Raquel Fontes, Maylene Fernandes, 10 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins who loved him dearly. He was the father of the late Jason B. Fontes and Peter Fontes.
Relatives and Friends are invited to Visitation on Monday, August 30th in the Keefe Funeral Home from 4pm-7pm in Lincoln, RI. His Funeral will be held Tuesday, August 31st at 9:30am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, with a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Pawtucket at 11am. Burial will follow in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.
