Walter "Wally" R. Stewart Jr., of Pawtucket, passed away on October 21,2021 in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. He was the beloved husband of Paulette (Boudreau) Stewart. Born in Attleboro, MA., he was a son the late Walter R. and Gloria P. (Bowker) Stewart. He is one of 13 children; Beverly Burns, Gloria Medeiros, Michael LaFleur, Patricia Gordon, Denise Lavoie, Cindy Johnson, Karen Reed and Beverly LaFleur.
Wally is survived and loved by his wife Paulette (Boudreau) Stewart. His children, Michael Stewart and wife Michele Stewart of Rehoboth, MA, Thomas Thompson and wife Melissa Thompson of Bridgewater, VT and Dawn Culpan and husband Jeff Culpan of Portsmouth, RI.
He loved and was loved by his 6 Grandchildren: Shaun Plante, Justin Thompson, Brian Quaglia, Marc Quaglia, David Quaglia, Jeremy Plourde, and Angelina Hanson and his 4 Great Grandchildren: Parker, Emma , Oliver and Declan who will miss him immensely.
Wally was a great man who proudly served in the United States Marine Corp. from 1960 to 1964. He unselfishly served his community on the Pawtucket Police Force beginning in 1966 and later retired in 2001., during which time he was a Pawtucket Police Detective for 17 years. During his law enforcement career in 1974, he received his Bachelors in Law Enforcement degree from Bryant College..
Wally was loved, admired and respected by his family and friends. He enjoyed his life and his smile was contagious. He loved his dog and sidekick, "Willie". He enjoyed boating, playing pool, beer and Johnny Walker Blue. You could alway catch him watching a Red Sox, Patriots or Bruins game. He enjoyed his family and would, and did, anything for them. He was a man of great wisdom, knowledge, honor and integrity which no one could deny. Wally loved life and life loved him. He was the center of all the fun and where there wasn't any to be found, he made sure to bring it.
We will miss Wally with all our hearts and souls. We will miss his teasing, hugs, kisses, and hand-shakes, comforting words, his spot on advice and how he lit up a room with his smile. His conversations, all the help he gave us without question, having a simple beer, or just going down the boat with the people he loved to be with. Wally meant so much to us all, in so many ways. He was taken from us too soon. He has left a hole in our hearts that only he could fill. If I could sum up the life of Wally Stewart, It would be: He loved his wife, he loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren like no other. He lived "Life" to its fullest, with no regrets and a life that most of us only dream about. Wally you "Rocked" this world. Wally we Love You! and we will Miss You, until we see you again!
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation on Wednesday, October 27th from 10:00am – 12:00 noon at Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln, followed by a funeral home service at 12:00 noon. Military Honors will take place following the service outside in the parking lot. Burial is private.
