Maria Teresa Marini, 57, passed away peacefully at home. Born in Brava, Cape Verde Islands. Beloved daughter of Maria Barros and Manuel Gomes. Known to many as Terry or Teja', she was a bright light in all our lives. With her cheerful smile and caring ways, she was loved by all who knew her. She was never afraid to approach a stranger with a kind word or helping hand. Her faith in God and support of family and friends, kept her strong throughout her recent brief health struggle. She worked for many years as a Nanny. She loved and cared for all the children and families as if they were her own. Besides her parents, she is survived by her loving husband Michael Marini of 33 years, her daughter Alicia Brule', the late Jeffrey Gomes, her grandchildren, Nathan, Elijah, Jeremih and Anastasia. Her siblings Maria Anita Dos Santos, Guilherme "Billy" Gomes, Jovelina Pires, Francisco "Frank" Gomes, Suzy Maria Gomes, Steven Gomes and the late Jorge Manuel Gomes, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and many beloved friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation on Monday, October 25th from 9:00am – 11:00am at Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln, followed by a funeral home service at 11:00am. Burial will follow in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.
