Michael A. Vanasse, age 40, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 17, 2021. Born September 26, 1981 in Providence, RI, to Alfred and Dorothy Vanasse. Mike was a 1999 graduate of Shea High School and attended CCRI for one year upon graduation. “Big Mike” as he was known to all loved bikes and cars, they were his passion and he was recently working for Refresh Car Wash in North Providence detailing cars. An honest guy, Big Mike would tell you like it was. Everyone that knew Big Mike knew that he liked cracking jokes and loved to eat. Big Mike had dreams growing up of playing football for the San Francisco 49’ers. His dream ended after barely making the varsity team at Shea High during his high school tenure. As he got older, he realized watching Sunday football was more his speed. He loved dogs and cared deeply for his dogs, “Mama” and “Buddha”.

Besides his parents, Mike is survived by his sister Kelly of Pawtucket, brother Brian and his wife Rose of Pawtucket, sister Melissa of Danbury, CT, and his two nephews, Jacob Faria and Brian Vanasse of Pawtucket. Mike is also survived by his uncle, Joseph Hughes Jr., aunt, Diane Hughes, uncle, Robert Vanasse and several cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours Thursday, December 23, 2021 from 4pm-7pm at Keefe Funeral Home, Lincoln, RI. Burial will be private.
