Anna "Janine Sarbinowski" Madjoucoff, March 29,1940 to December 23, 2021, Born Janine Sarbinowski from a Polish Catholic background in Valenciennes, France in 1940 during WWII, she worked for wealthy families as an Au-pair/Caretaker. Anna came from a very large family of 10 children. All who reside(d) in both France and Switzerland. At age 22 she moved to Switzerland working as a CAN for a Swiss hospital. Later at age 26 moving to the U.S. beginning in Hartford, CT, Manchester CT, then finally settling in Providence. RI working as an Au-pair/Caretaker. She came to the U.S. never speaking a word of English, but went to night school, and pushed herself to learn. She was always determined. Anna became a Naturalized U.S. Citizen. 1968, In Providence, RI she met Basil Theodore Madjoucoff, Bulgarian/Palestinian descent age 48 in Providence. Both spoke French. They fell in love and married the following year. Agreeing to change her first name from Janine to Anna (Mother of St. Mary) for religious reasons, Anna became Orthodox and married in 1969 at St. Mary's Russian Orthodox church (Manville, Cumberland R.I) now named Dormition of the Virgin Mary Holy Orthodox Church 71 Manville Hill Rd, Cumberland, RI 02864 Having two children Theodore and Maria. They settled in Pawtucket. Anna became a CNA for Hallworth House (Benefit Street, Providence) and this is where she thrived. She enjoyed every minute of taking care of the elderly. Everyone who met my Mom fell in love with her. Her fast wit, sparkle, humor, caring, and generosity is what many people will remember her for. Til most recently, in her declining years, anyone who spoke with her said how much they loved her, and thought how cute she was. Helping raise her three grandchildren brought her immense joy. Being with them daily during weekdays all the while, still working her full-time CNA job on weekends at Elmhurst Extended Care, as well taking care of Mrs. Mearns at Laurel Meade, Blackstone Blvd. Who lived to age 100. Anna kept herself in overdrive. Until retirement at age 69. Anna leaves a son Theodore Madjoucoff, daughter-in-law Jami Kwasneski-Madjoucoff, and her threegrandchildren Rebecca, Melissa, and T.J. (Theodore James), of North Providence and her devoted daughter Maria-Christina Madjoucoff, who lived with and was her Caretaker until the end. After a year-long battle with Hypercalcemia from a lymphoma, Anna passed peacefully at home with Hospice care. A bright light has gone out in our lives and we know she is now at peace. May Anna Janine Sarbinowski Madjoucoff's soul be eternal.
