Monica Moniz, 83, of South Kingstown, formerly of East Providence, passed away after a brief illness on December 31st at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Belmiro and Lydia (Ribeiro) Silva.
Monica graduated from nursing school in 1959 and proudly worked over 50 years in various hospitals as a licensed practical nurse. She enjoyed traveling, eating good food, listening to R&B music, the beach and was an avid Pittsburg Steelers fan.
She is survived by a daughter, Monica Moniz(Jeff Ratchford); a sister, Joanne Silva, and granddaughter, Jayla Ratchford. She was the sister of the late Michael and Belmiro Silva. Services are private.
