Narvis L. Mangum, 88, of Warwick RI passed away Sunday evening, January 2nd at Rhode Hospital, surrounded by family.
Born and raised in Newberry, South Carolina, she was the daughter of John and Francis Sanders.
After graduating highschool, she worked in Buffalo, New York for a year before she moved to Rhode Island where she met her husband of 65 years Alphonza Mangum. They married in 1956 and traveled around the country for 5 years before having their first son, the late Dwayne D. Mangum, in 1961. In 1969, they had their second son Kirk J. Mangum.
Narvis worked for 18 years at Texas Instruments in Attleboro, MA. She retired with her husband of 65 years in 1994 to take care of her family and continue traveling across the country.
She spent the rest of her life caring for and spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchild.
She always said she gave life her best. Her service will be Wednesday, January 5th at St. Timothy’s Church in Warwick
