Robert E. Pontbriant (Bobby),57, passed away suddenly on Sunday January 9, 2022 at Fatima Hospital. Born in Pawtucket R.I, he was a longtime Pawtucket resident. He also lived in Cumberland and North Providence. He was the son of Gerald Pontbriant and Irene Pontbriant, both of Central Falls. Bobby is survived by 2 sisters Mary Pontbriant and Robin Harnois. He was also the brother to the late Susan Stegnick and Lisa Cortez.
When healthy, Bobby worked hard as a roofer and loved his trade. He was kind, and would do anything for anyone. He was very protective of his sisters. Bobby suffered a traumatic brain injury in 2013 and was no longer able to work. In 2020 he was diagnosed with throat cancer for which he underwent a tracheotomy. Bobby fought so many battles in his life and remained strong.
He will be greatly missed by those whose lives he touched.
A memorial service will be held at Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Higginson Ave. Lincoln, R.I. on Saturday, January 22, 2022 from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm.
