Debra Martin Desrochers, 68, passed away on January 23, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Donald G. Desrochers, they have been married for 46 years.
Debra was born in Providence, the daughter of the late Ladd M. and Barbara (Carrigan) Martin.
She taught elementary school at Sacred Heart School in East Providence. After retirement, she was a substitute teacher for Lincoln and East Greenwich school systems.
Debra was a Girl Scout and served as a Girl Scout Brownie leader for several years. She loved to knit and crochet. She was an avid Red Sox fan and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She graduated from Roger Williams University and took several class towards her masters degree at Providence College.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter Meaghan Martins and Meaghan’s husband Antonio; her son Brendon Desrochers and Brendon’s wife Theresa; three grandchildren: Abigail Martins, Genevieve Martins and Micah Desrochers; her brother, Ladd M. Martin II and his wife Bridget in addition to several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Gayle Testa.
Visitation for Debra will be held on Monday, January 31, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Keefe Funeral Home at 5 Higginson Avenue in Lincoln.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Debra on Tuesday, February 1, at 10a.m. in the Church of St. Gregory the Great at 360 Cowesett Road in Warwick. Burial will be private
