Our beloved Manuel S. Andrade (Manny) passed away peacefully on February 4, 2022 at AdventHealth Hospice Care in Orlando, Florida after a decade of fighting cancer.
He was the loving husband of Dee Andrade. A father of the late: Sheba Andrade. He will be sadly missed by his 6 daughters and his beloved Teacup Yorkie named Suki. He leaves behind 2 siblings: Madeline and Joseph Jr. As well as 5 grandchildren. Manny was born on January 18, 1957 on the Island of Brava, Cape Verde. He was the son of the late: Joseph and Eugenia Andrade. Further survived and remembered by his extended family and friends.
Manny was a proud American who was honorably discharged after serving three years in the United States Army. He was stationed at Camp Edwards (East) in South Korea from 1977 to 1978. He was recognized for commendable service in the defense of freedom along the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). He was a part of the 2nd Engineer Battalion, 2nd Infinitary Division, as a Combat Engineer. He endured a long battle of prostate cancer due to Agent Orange exposure in South Korea. He was a man of integrity and honor. A proud East Providence, Rhode Island native. Manny retired after several years as a dedicated truck driver.
Manny will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving father, proud patriot, old soul, and family-oriented individual. He was a devoted sports fan especially of the Dallas Cowboys, admirer of nature, and animal lover. Manny was very passionate about sports cars, Elvis Presley, western movies, and history topics. He enjoyed adventurous activities, family-oriented trips and learning about world events. Above all, he was an altruistic, genuine, and honest man that liked to help others in need, contributed to charities, and touched many hearts.
Due to the current COVID pandemic, the wake, will be a gathering of close family and friends ONLY, held at Keefe Funeral Home on Saturday, February 12, 2022 From 8:30am-10:15am. Following the gathering, the mass will be held at Our Lady of the Rosary Church at 11am. Manny’s family will lay him to rest in their family plot at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Riverside.
