Helena Batista of Providence Rhode Island passed away unexpectedly, on Monday, March 28, 2022. Helena was born to parents Ana Silvia Batista and Ramon Batista on February 12, 1982 in Lynn, Massachusetts. Helena graduated in June 2001 from Peabody High School. She continued her education earning her CNA certification and from there built a career of service in the nursing field. Helena worked for many years giving care and comfort to the elderly. Helena was a gregarious, outgoing, and outspoken person. Never one to back down from stating her opinion, she certainly made you know what she thought and how she felt. She was simply authentic. She was fun, and entertaining. She brought the energy to any social gathering. She loved to dance and although singing was not her gift, she would attempt to belt out a tune or two.
Helena is survived by her parents Ana and Ramon Batista, her beautiful children Hulbert and Amaya Desanges, one brother William Lopez of North Carolina, two sisters, Anita Alvarado-Batista of Massachusetts, and Jacqueline Garcia Lopez of Rhode Island, and many nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew her. A celebration of life service will be held at Keefe Funeral home, 5 Higginson Ave, Lincoln, RI on Saturday, April 2, 2022 from 4-7PM.
