Raoul J. Fournier, 92, of Cumberland, formerly of Pawtucket, passed away peacefully at Hope Hospice on July 1, 2022. He was the husband of the late Janette M. (Pelletier) Fournier for 55 years. Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Albert and Alexina (Frechette) Fournier.
Raoul worked as a foreman at a bandage manufacturing company in Central Falls until his retirement in 1998. He was also a freelance upholsterer, a trade he learned from his late father. He enjoyed camping, playing cards, in particular cribbage, NE Patriots, NY Giants, and the Red Sox. He especially loved spending time and partying with his family. He also served in the US Army during the Korean War and was a devoted communicant of St. John the Baptist Church.
He is survived by six children, Jeanne Nava and husband Don of Bartlett, NH, Ronald Fournier and wife Brenda of Manville, Ann Fournier of Pawtucket, Peter Fournier and wife Sandra of Cumberland, Elaine Laliberte and husband Daniel of Harrisville, Michelle Labossiere and husband Gary of Lincoln; fifteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two siblings, Leona Allard and Aline LeBlanc. He was the father of the late Richard Fournier; great-grandfather of the late Gabriel Nava; brother of the late Ozzie Fournier, Constance Vilandre, Ora Ciras, Robert, Roland and Raymond Fournier.
His funeral will begin at 8:45a.m. on Thursday, July 7th from Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, 69 Quincy Ave., Pawtucket.
