of the Fox Point Section in Providence, R.I. passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2011. Born October 14, 1943 to the late George Mendes and the late Mary Silva Mendes. He was the twin brother of the late George Mendes. Manny was a 1964 graduate of Hope High School. Manny was employed at WJAR Channel 10 and also Channel 36 in Providence , R.I. Manny was an excellent hair dresser who had the ability to make everyone laugh. He loved to cook and tell stories of the Cape Verdean culture and played a role in the film, "Some Kind of Funny Porto Rican?". Manny leaves behind many cousins, friends and God children. A memorial Service will be held Saturday February 19, 2011 at 10:00 a.m in the Holy Rosary Church Traverse Street, Providence, RI in the Fox Point Section followed by reception to be announced at the church service.
