Alberto M. Gomes, "Beto" 89, passed peacefully on August 11, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Hilda R. Gomes for 66 years.
Alberto was born on November 25, 1932 in Fogo, Cape Verde. He was the son of the late Solomao and Guilhermina Gomes. Alberto was the proprietor of Gomes Taxi for many years in the greater Boston area before retiring.
He enjoyed spending times with his family and friends and would never pass up a card game of Bisca or going to a good flea market.
Beto is survived by his wife and three children, Alberto Gomes Jr., Lena Gomes and Lorenco Gomes, his siblings, Eugenio Gomes and Maria Leitao, and thirteen grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Antonio Gomes, Carlos Gomes and Nando Gomes, and the brother of the late Alirio Gomes, Clemintina Monteiro and Jose Gomes.
Visitation will be held SATURDAY, August 13, 2022 from 4 until 7 PM in the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Higginson Avenue, Lincoln, Rhode Island, 02865
Funeral Services will be held MONDAY, August 15, 2022 at 9 AM in the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St John the Baptist Church, Slater Street, Pawtucket, Rhode Island 02860.
Burial will follow at New Calvary Cemetery, 800 Harvard Street, Mattapan, MA 02126.
