Melissa Anne Picard (Lawson), 48, passed away August 18th after battling lung cancer for 3 years. Melissa was born in Providence and more recently lived at Elmwood Nursing and Rehab facility on Elmwood Ave. in Providence. She leaves behind her mother, Judith L. Daviau and father, Albert Costa and his wife Rene Costa, her daughter Icesis Lamantia and her husband Joe Lamantia and a grandson Giovanni Lamantia. Her brother and his wife Neil and Jennifer Costa and Neil’s daughter Lexis Costa. Nora and Edward Trainor and their daughter Tracy White and their son Robert Trainor. Also many other loving relatives and friends especially her ex in-laws Lee and Carol Picard and ex-husband Chris Picard, her longtime friends David & Diane Riendeau, Harriet and all the staff at Elmwood Nursing and Rehab. Melissa also leaves behind caring friends at Slater house in Pawtucket (especially Hadee) where she lived for many years.
A remembrance gathering will be held on Sunday, September 11th from 12:00 - 2:30pm at Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln, RI, followed by with a funeral home service at 2:30pm. Burial is private.
