Vitoria Ines Fortes Andrade, 91 years old, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 17th, 2022, with her loving family by her side. She was born in the Island of Santo Antao, Cabo Verde and was the daughter of the late Manuel Jesus Rodrigues and the late Ines Maria Fortes, both born in Santo Antao, Cabo Verde.
Votoia, (Grandma Toia) as she was affectionately known, a nickname that she gained due to her love and affection for children, married at a very young age Eduardo Manuel Andrade, her late spouse with whom she had six children.
She loved helping others, but especially children. Her neighbors, family and friends knew that they could count on her to babysit their children while they worked. She had a bright, active spirit and was always determined to resolve any family issues. She lived for her family as she saw her own happiness thru her family’s eyes.
May we follow her footsteps in life, by asking the Lord to teach us the lessons of the flowers, that silently blossom, spreading their beauty of live and their delicate perfume without asking anything in return.
Victoria is preceded by her son Calu. She lives behind 5 children, Naita, Tey, Zenaida, Tino and Sonia (whom she lived with the last 5 years); 21 grandkids, 26 great-grandkids and many friends.

“Blessed are all who fear the LORD, who walk in obedience to him. You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours. Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children will be like olive shoots around your table. Yes, this will be the blessing for the man who fears the LORD. May the LORD bless you from Zion; may you see the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life. May you live to see your children’s children”. Peace to her spirit!

Family and friends are welcome to her wake on Wednesday, October 19th, from 4pm-7pm at Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Avenue. Lincoln, RI. Her funeral will begin at 11:45 am on October 20th, at Holy Name Church located at 107 Camp Street, Providence, RI.




Vitória Inês Fortes Andrade, 91 anos, faleceu na segunda-feira, 17 de Outubro de 2022, com
sua amada família ao seu lado. Nascida na ilha de Santo Antão, Cabo Verde, filha dos falecidos
Manuel Jesus Rodrigues e Inês Maria Fortes, ambos naturais de Santo Antão. Quarta filha de
seis irmãos já falecidos.
VôToia como carinhosamente era conhecida, alcunha que ganhou pelo seu amor e afeto que
nutria pelas crianças, cedo se uniu maritalmente ao Eduardo Manuel Andrade, seu falecido esposo, com quem teve seis filhos, mas um faleceu (Calu). Ela adorava ajudar os outros, mas sobretudo crianças. Os vizinhos, familiares e amigos sabiam que podiam contar com ela para deixarem as suas crianças, durante o trabalho. Ela tinha um espírito ativo e era determinada na resolução dos assuntos familiares. Vivia pela família pois via nos seus filhos a sua felicidade.
Sigamos o legado de Vôtoia, pedindo ao Senhor, que nos ensina a lição das flores, que,
silenciosamente, desabrocham espalhando a beleza da vida e o perfume suave da delicadeza
sem nada pedir em troca.
A falecida deixou cinco filhos: Naita, Tey, Zenaida, Tino e Sónia (com quem viveu os últimos cinco anos); 21 netos e 26 bisnetos, sobrinhos e muitos amigos.
Salmo 128: "Felizes os que obedecem ao Senhor e andam nos seus caminhos. Comerás do fruto do teu próprio trabalho:assim serás feliz e viverás contente. A tua esposa será como videira fecunda na intimidade do teu lar; os teus filhos serão como rebentos de Oliveira ao
redor da tua mesa... e chegue a ver os filhos dos teus filhos." Paz a sua alma!

quarta-feira, 19 de Outubro na The Keefe funeral Home, Five Higginson Avenue, Lincoln, RI 02865 das 16 às 19h. Seu funeral começa na quinta-feira, 20 de Outubro DIRECTAMENTE na
igreja Holy Name, 107 Camp Street, Providence, RI 02906 às 11:45h. O enterro acontecerá no
Cemitério North Burial Ground em Providence
