On Tuesday, December 6, 2022, Maria Luiza Santos Lima, loving mother of eight, passed away at age ninety-nine, born July 24, 1923, in Brava, Cabo Verde parents Luiza F Conceicao and Joao Antonio Santos. Married to Domingos Lima who preceded her in death in 1994.
Maria came to US in 1966 settling in Pawtucket Rhode Island she worked for Healthtex for many years until her retirement.
She was a dedicated mother, mother-in-law, and VoVo first and foremost. She treasured her 8 children, 2 daughters-in-law, 22 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren she embraced every moment with them. She also loved her God, spending time traveling, beaches, and her friends and family. She was loved by everyone who crossed paths with her and will be greatly missed.
Mother of Anna Santos of East Providence Alicia Lomba of Pawtucket, Peter Lima and his wife Fatima of Pawtucket, Luisa Goncalves of Pawtucket, John Lima and his wife Susan of Seekonk, MA, and Manual Lima of East Providence, preceded her in death sons Joseph and Fortunato Lima. Siblings preceded her in death Sisters Ana Coelho, Eugenia Fortes and Guilharmina Goncalves and Brothers Manuel Santos, Francisco Fontes and Joao Fortes. She also leaves many nephews and nieces.
Her funeral will begin Saturday, December 10th, 2022, at 9:00am at Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Higginson Ave., Lincoln, followed by a funeral home service at 10:00am. Burial will follow in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence. Calling hours will be on Friday, December 9th from 4:00 – 7:00pm. Relatives and friends are invited.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Beacon Hospice.
