Lolita Loreto, 87, passed away peacefully in her Pawtucket home on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 where she was surrounded by her family.
Lolita was born on October 12, 1935 in Cavite, Philippines to Francisco Ortega and Consolacion Lagda, also raised by her stepmom Choleng Ortega. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Kaka Eddy, her brother Andy, and her husband Jesus Loreto. She is survived by her siblings Minyang and Louie.
In addition, the memory of her life lives on in her children, sons Jojie and wife Cora, Enyong and wife Zeny, and Ronald, daughters Oneng and husband Rannie, Baby, Nene and husband Mark, Mildred, and Genel. She had 15 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Lolita came to America in March 21, 1981, to provide the best life she could for her family. She was known for her loud mouth and blunt attitude, her son in law Big John used to called her “Bruja.” But she was also tremendously loved by everyone who knows her because her heart was so big… She was OUR Nanay.
Though it’s hard to say goodbye, may we all be grateful for her long, happy life. She was a strong woman. Let her memory live on by sharing her love for life as her beautiful soul is laid to rest with her loving husband Jesus.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation on Saturday, January 7th from 4-7pm at the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Avenue, Lincoln.
