Edward J. (Ted) Noons, III of Exeter, RI passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at his home. He was the son of the late Edward J. Noons, Jr and the late Dorothy J. (Wolf) Noons and grew up in the Fairlawn section of Pawtucket. He was a 1972 graduate of Pawtucket West High School. He went on to attend URI and later RIC before joining the U.S. Army MP K-9 unit.
Ted went on to a varied career, first as an archaeologist focusing on pre-colonial sites in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Later, he took on a career as an operations manager for St. Johnsbury Trucking in New York and Connecticut and then moving into a successful sales position for trucking companies in Rhode Island with a long tenure at FleetPride in Cranston.
Ted was an avid outdoorsman who liked the challenge of surf, freshwater, and offshore fishing. His favorite spots remain a secret except to his closest friends. In his younger days, he would spend every summer in Falmouth, MA. He had also hunted deer in Acadia, Maine. He loved to walk newly tilled farmland to search for arrowheads and became familiar in parts of Tiverton, Little Compton and Narragansett for “picking” some fields. He made shadow boxes of arrowheads he had discovered for friends and family. He loved his walking his dog and fishing off his dock. He also loved his extended family.
Ted leaves behind his sons, Brendan G.(Lisa) Noons of Storrs, CT and Conor C. Noons of Wakefield, RI. He was the former husband of Mary E. Noons of Wakefield, RI. He was the brother of the late Karl J. (Robin) Noons of La Jolla, CA and Kathleen M. (Henry) Williams of Providence, RI. He was the beloved uncle to Karl James (Melany) Noons of Orange County, CA, Nicole Williams of Pawtucket, RI, Keanna (Robbie) Dapper of La Jolla, CA, Ashley Williams of Providence, RI and Jenna Leigh Noons of Austin, TX. He will be missed by all.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 4th 2023 from 4pm-6pm with a service at 6pm in The Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave. Lincoln. Burial private.
