Janet Marie "Dufour" Keefe, age 78 of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2023 at home surrounded in love by her family. Janet was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Pawtucket, RI, and Secretarial College. She was an active parishioner of St. Leo the Great. At St. Leo’s she was instrumental in running the Clothes Closet, the Food Pantry and she was known for her cuisine in the St. Leo’s kitchen for years providing many great meals for fundraising, Bazaars, and special events. She was also an active member of the Spirited Seniors and the Legion of Mary. Janet’s talents were many, she was an accomplished cook, community volunteer, a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt and friend. She enjoyed camping with family on the Cape, shopping with her sisters and girls’ weekends with her sisters, nieces and great nieces. She is also a lover of all animals big and small.
Preceded in death by her parents Ovila A. Dufour, Dolores M. Dufour and her sister, Patricia Vivian Dufour. She is survived by her husband John M. Keefe III, her sons, Scott Dufour Keefe & Shaun Dufour Keefe, her sisters, Nancy S. Allen & Linda A. Woynar, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends as well as her beloved dogs Daisy & Dusty. Janet & John just celebrated 50 years on September 9, 2022.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Blessed Pope John Paul II Parish, 755 Central Ave, Pawtucket, RI 02861 with Rev. Stephen M. Battey. The family will receive friends from 4PM to 7PM on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Higginson Avenue, Lincoln, RI 02865.
