Maria E. Gonzalez, 84, of Providence, passed away peacefully on May 26th surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Silvestre Gonzalez. Born in Villa Tapia, Dominican Republic, she was a daughter of the late Francisco and Maria C. (Liriano) Vargas.
She is survived by her loving children, Francisco R. Gonzalez, Iris M. Carrasquillo and Maria D. Pflieger; eleven grandchildren, Alana, Alana, Alen, Melisa, Israel, Pedro, Jonathan, Savier, Jessica, Yameli, Franceli; eleven great-grandchildren; six siblings, Juan Vargas, Antonio Vargas, Juanito Vargas, Ana Mercedes Vargas, Ana Rosa Vargas and Dignora Vargas.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation on Tuesday, May 30th from 6:00 – 9:00pm at Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 11:00am in St. Bartholomew Church, 305 Laurel Hill Ave., Providence, RI 02909. The family requests that all those attending the funeral, please report directly to the church in the morning. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
