Norman R. Bergeron, 83, a lifelong resident of Central Falls, passed away at home in the loving care of his wife and children on March 29, 2011. He was the son of the late Joseph and Aurore (LeMay) Bergeron. He was the beloved husband of Therese (Frigon) Bergeron for sixty years, the loving father of eleven children, proud grandfather of 25 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Therese and children: Celine Bergeron (Jim Morris), Roberta Landry, John (Joanne), David (Lydia), Claude (Geralyn), Denise (Tim Tiemissen), Paul, Anne (Greg Martin), Norman (Susan), Daniel(Cheleasa), and Philip Joel. He is also survived by a brother, Paul Bergeron and sister, Madeline Nadeau. He was the brother of the late Robert Bergeron.

Born and raised in Central Falls, RI, Norman was a WWII Army Veteran and later served as a French teacher and head of the foreign language department at Park View Junior High in Cranston, RI for 30 years, retiring in 1990. He also supported his hometown community by serving on the Central Falls School Committee as both a member and chairman. Norman enjoyed sailing, camping, music, traveling and spending time with his family.
His funeral will be held Saturday at 8:30am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Spirit Parish, Dexter St at 9:30am. Visiting hours will be held Friday from 5 to 8pm. Burial will be private at the Veterans Cemetery in Exeter.
