Dr. Mercy was born on May 30, 1979 to Joana Arthur and Samuel Ankamah-Tettey in Sunyani, Ghana when both parents worked at the Electoral Commission of Ghana. The last born of 6 six children, Mercy started her elementary education at the Institute of Devine Education, Accra and continued her secondary education at Ghana Secondary School in Koforidua. Mercy then proceeded to the University of Ghana, Legon where she attained her Bachelors of Arts Degree in 2003. Mercy migrated to the United States right after graduating when she won the US Visa Lottery. Upon arrival in the US, Dr. Mercy gained admission to Kean University - New Jersey, where she attained her Masters Degree in Health Care Administration in 2005. In 2006, Mercy was married to Robert Nunoo and they were blessed with 2 children, David and Anthony. In 2012, Mercy relocated to Ghana but under unbearable conditions she returned to the US with her sons in 2014. Dr. Mercy joined H & T Medicals in 2015 and until present was the Head of the Human Resources Department. In 2017, Mercy decided to utilize her God given skills and talent and started a decorating and event planning business officially. Kabod Créations and Elite Planning were born. Mercy’s passion and hard work was evident in everything she did. Combining her regular 9-5 job, raising her 2 sons as a single mother, managing her personal businesses, Mercy enrolled in the Doctoral Degree program and started in March 2022. The journey was tough, but with tenacity, Mercy successfully completed her program in May 2023 and was awarded a Doctoral Degree in Health Care Administration at the Virginia University of Lynchburg, VA. Mercy joined ICGC Empowerment Temple assembly in RI in 2016. She was a committed and active member until her passing. She always beat all odds but on Sunday, Oct 15, 2023 at 7:30 am, death could not get its cold hands off her. A prayer warrior, a faithful servant in the vineyard, a friend to both young and old,a confidant, an encourager, a mentor, a sister to all. Dr. Mercy, you will be missed by all. You have left a vacuum no one can fill. The church events planner, the PVV (Women’s Ministry) Secretary, birthday announcer, The church birthday cake coordinator, the church decorator and above all a very special personal assistant to our first lady - Lady Effie.
Dr. Mercy was a member of All Nations Church during her stay in New Jersey. The church announcer and member of the Women’s Ministry as well. Everywhere Dr. Mercy went, she left footprints. Her infectious smile, her upbeat personality, her favorite words “don’t worry, we can work this out” approach to her clients, humility and love for all was so evident.

Visitation will be held Saturday, November 4, 2023 starting at 9:30am in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln a service will be held at 10:30am in the funeral home followed by Entombment in Swan Point Cemetery, Blackstone Blvd., Providence.
