Joseph S. Ferreira, 81, passed peacefully at home on December 2, 2023. He was the husband of the late Dianne (Marks) Ferreira and resided the past three years in Seekonk and previously was a long time Pawtucket resident. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Manuel F. and Mary (Prock) Ferreira.
Joe had been self-employed as an oil burner and heating technician for many years. He served in the US Army as a medic. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, playing cards and his beloved dog, Pogo.
He is survived by a son Joseph A. Ferreira, his wife Deborah, a daughter, Susan M. Moran, her husband Gregg, two grandchildren, Joseph D. Ferreira and Riley Ferreira, three siblings, Rose Perry, Dorothy Grocott and Manuel Ferreira and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Catherine Terceiro.
A celebration of his life will be held Friday, December 8, 2023 from 5pm until 7pm in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln, RI. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to the MSPCA at MSPCA.org.
