Doreen Lynn Bethea, 69 of 20 Case Ln., Providence, R.I., 02909, entered eternal rest on January 7, 2024 at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the widow of the late Edward Bethea Sr. Born in New Haven, CT on December 27, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Celestine Williams-Mero and Edward Mero. In her early years she was employed by the Bulova Watch Company, where she met her soulmate Edward. They fell in love, married, and started a family. She is survived by three daughters; Deidre Johnston of Hamden, CT, Thea Grant of Atlanta, GA, Alicia Bethea of Johnston, RI, and one son Edward Bethea Jr. of Havre de Grace, MD. She was a grandmother to eight and a great-grandmother to 2. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael Williams and Milton Williams, and one sister Alice (Williams) Atkinson, and is survived by three brothers, Joel Williams of Hamden, CT, Edward Mero of New Haven, CT, Delbert Mero of Worcester, MA, and one sister Celestine Mero-Spann of McDonough, GA, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 13th, 2024 from 1pm-4pm in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave. Lincoln. Burial Private.
