Arthur “Art” Chase, 95, of Palm Harbor, FL, died January 10, 2024 at Suncoast Hospice of Palm Harbor. He was the husband of Lucille Chase, step-father of Dr. John Yanusas and his wife Joyce (Becker) Yanusas, father of Dr. Jennifer (Chase) Fielding and her husband Randy Fielding, step-grandfather of Elyse Yanusas, and grandfather of Ryder Fielding and Conner Fielding.
Raised in Providence, RI, Arthur was a son of the late Ruth (Vars) Chase and late George Chase, and brother of the late Stanley Chase, late Louise (Chase) Wilcox and late George Chase. Arthur served in the U.S. Army in Okinawa after the end of WWII. He was a private pilot and handyman, building his own house and boats. Arthur worked at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford, CT for 35 years. He was an active member of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Clearwater where he enjoyed debating world views with a cup of coffee in his hand.
A gathering of loved ones will be held at Keefe Funeral Home in Lincoln, RI on January 17, 2024 at 9:00 a.m., followed by burial at the Vars Cemetery (Rhode Island Historic Cemetery #19) in Bradford, RI. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Suncoast Hospice.
