Berta Lopes Da Silva, 92, of Central Falls passed on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Manuel Da Silva; they were married for 63 years.
Born in Tapum, Brava, Cabo Verde; where she had her first two daughters, Ana Da Silva and Maria Da Silva then moved to Angola with her family. In Benfica, Nova Lisboa, Angola her family grew with the birth of Eugenia Da Silva, Victoria Da Silva, Pedro Da Silva, Agostinho Da Silva and Rosa Da Silva. As a family they lived in Angola for 13 years. In 1975, the family moved back to Lima Doce, Brava, Cabo Verde. The family migrated to United States, living in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.
She leaves behind her seven children, 18 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one sister and extended family members. Her legacy is her family and the values she exemplified by her faith and integrity.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 29th 2024 from 4pm-7pm in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave. Lincoln. Her Funeral will begin Friday, March 1st in the Keefe Funeral Home starting at 8:30AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at The Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 291 High St. Pawtucket at 10am. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground Cemetery, Providence RI.
