Maria R. Lima, 75, of Pawtucket, passed peacefully surrounded by family on April 2, 2024 in Providence. Born in Terceira, Azores she was a daughter of the late Basilio and Maria F. (Romeiro) Lima.
Maria dedicated over 28 years of her life working at Schoolhouse Candy. Beyond her professional life, she was a lifelong parishioner of St. Anthony Church in Pawtucket, finding solace and community in her faith and church family. Her love for her community extended to her involvement in the Amigos da Terceira Club, where she cherished the camaraderie and shared experiences with fellow members.
She is survived by two siblings, Ilberto Lima and Filomena Sousa; six nieces and nephews, David Sousa, Sergio Sousa, Scottie Sousa, Kevin Lima, Karen Nunes, and Jessica Garcia. She was the sister of the late Nivia Garcia.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, April 4th from 5:00 – 8:00pm at Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday morning at 10:00am in St. Anthony Church, 32 Lawn Ave., Pawtucket. All those who are attending the funeral, please report directly to church in the morning. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket.
