Dominga "Minga" Montrond, born Gomes, of Brava, Cape Verde, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2024, in Providence, Rhode Island, at the age of 92. She was known for her sweet and gentle nature, her caring personality, and her strong family orientation. Minga dedicated over 30 years of her life as an employee at Fox Point Elementary School, impacting the lives of many children. She found joy in cooking and was renowned for her culinary skills. She will be deeply missed by her surviving daughter Lucinda Montrond Kent, son Querino Montrond, grandsons George, Miguel, Kent, and William Julio Kent, as well as a host of other family members and friends who were like family to her. Minga was preceded in death by her daughter Carlota Montrond and her husband Miguel Montrond.

Minga found solace in her faith at Holy Rosary Church in Providence, RI, where she worshipped.

Visitation and service to honor Minga's life will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, from 4:00pm to 6:30pm with a funeral home service starting at 6:30pm at the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Higginson Avenue, Lincoln, RI 02865. Her funeral will be begin DIRECTLY on Wednesday, April 24th, 2024 in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence at 9am.
