William H. Horton, Sr., 87, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2024 in Providence, RI. He was the beloved husband of Helen A. (Chalmers) Horton. Born in Warren, R.I., he was a son of the late Harold and Marian (Luther) Horton.
William was a passionate fan of the Red Sox and the New England Patriots, cheering them on during games and celebrating their victories with enthusiasm. He had a love for sports and outdoor activities that were truly diverse, having a passion for fishing, hunting, softball, golf, and horseshoes. He also found enjoyment watching Western movies, especially those featuring John Wayne, and country music. William also had a great sense of humor and a quick wit! His ability to make a "wise crack" added a light-hearted and fun atmosphere, making him a joy to be around. Above all, his presence and impact on his family will undoubtedly be deeply missed. His love, laughter, and the special moments shared together will be cherished memories that continue to bring comfort and warmth to those who knew and loved him.
Besides his loving wife he is survived by his children, William Horton Jr. and wife Yolawandia, Robert Horton and wife Donna, Kenneth Horton and wife Dawn Shaw, Donna Beaudoin and husband Raymond, Kevin Horton and wife Lori Xavier, Holly Dupuis and husband Glenn; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Horton. He was the brother of the late Francis Potter, Ethelyn Souza, Mildred Horton, Dorothy Ribeiro, Doris Horton, Harold Horton, Irving Horton, Jerry Horton, Walter Horton, Arther Horton, Donald Horton, and Ray Horton.
His funeral will begin at 8:45am on Tuesday, April 30th from Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln, followed by a Funeral Service at 10:30am in St. Luke Episcopal Church, 670 Weeden St., Pawtucket, RI. Burial will follow in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence. Visiting hours will be Monday, April 29th from 4:00 – 7:00pm at Keefe Funeral Home. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
