Jose Garcia went home to Jesus on May 26th, 2024 at the age of 93. He was born June 2, 1930 in Vila Nova Sintra Brava, Cabo Verde. Jose was the son of the late Balbina Garcia and the late Jose fanha. He was the devoted husband of the late Natalina Garcia for 68 years. He was a provider, mentor, and loving father to Manuel Garcia, who resides in Cabo Verde, Napoleao Garcia, Joao Garcia, Domingas Garcia, Zilma Moniz, Mariana Garcia, Hildeberto Garcia, Madalena Garcia and Dalia Garcia, all from Pawtucket, RI. Jose also leaves behind 31 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews, also 2 siblings. Jose was a positive happy person who loved his family more than anything. He had a contagious smile and heart of gold. He loved listening to traditional Cape Verdean music and sharing a cup of coffee with anyone that walked through his door. He valued spending time with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by children, grandkids, sons-in-law, and daughters-in-law. This is not goodbye, it's see you later.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, May 31st from 4:00 - 7:00p.m. at Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, June 1st at 9:30a.m. in St. Anthony Church, 32 Lawn Ave., Pawtucket. Please meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground, Providence.
