Walter T. De Sousa, 67 of Pawtucket, RI passed away peacefully on Sunday May 26th, 2024, at Rhode Island Hospital surrounded by family. Born in Assomada Santa Catarina, Cabo Verde to the late Sebastiao T. de Sousa and Maria Sena de Sousa.
Walter was a lifelong Pawtucket resident. He worked for many years for General Cable (Carol Cable) in Pawtucket and Lincoln, RI before he retired. He was a passionate fan of “Sporting” Portuguese Soccer team.
He is survived by his mother Maria Sena de Sousa, his 2 sons Walter Gonsalves of Florida and Kory De Sousa of Massachusetts, one grandson Caleb, siblings Erminalda Sousa Vicente, Carlos Alberto Sousa, Filomena Veloso Oliveira, Maria Rosa Furtado, Lucilina de Sousa Silva, Ireneia de Sousa Faria, Luis Monteiro, Dulce de Sousa, Carmen de Faria, John Sousa, his brother in laws and sister in laws, nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, many cousins, and friends that loved him very much. Walter’s life was further enriched by the companionship of his beloved cat, Capuchina, which was his faithful companion and brought him immeasurable joy.
We will hold the memories made close to our hearts and take comfort in knowing you are finally resting in peace. “Until we see you again”
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the visitation on Sunday, June 2nd from 4:00 pm–7:00pm at Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln. His Funeral will begin on Monday, June 3rd in the Keefe Funeral Home at 9:00am followed by a funeral home service at 10:00am. Burial will follow at Swan Point Cemetery, 585 Blackstone Blvd, Providence RI 02906.
