Michele-Jean Duarte (Gonsalves), 64, of Pawtucket, RI, passed away Friday, May 31st, 2024 at Miriam Hospital.

Michele was born in Pawtucket, RI to Joseph and Lilian Duarte on May 26, 1960. She went to Pawtucket West (Shea) High School. She worked in the healthcare field for many years and was an employee at Paramount Cards for over 10 years.

Michele is survived by her ex-husband and close friend David Gonsalves, her children, Bruce Duarte, Michael Duarte, Bryan Gonsalves and Chanel Gonsalves and her 9 grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Paul Bergeron, Christine Bergeron and Joseph Duarte. She was predeceased by her sister Diane Duarte.

Michele had a strong love for God and made sure her children knew who Jesus was. She
spent much time singing in the choir, leading the women’s bible center and running the food bank. She was a loving woman and was called Ma by many neighborhood kids who knew they were welcome anytime for a warm meal, place to stay or one of her mama bear hugs that made you feel safe and loved.

Michele was an avid reader who loved music and fashion. She loved to dance and will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, joyous laughter and loving heart. But there was nothing Michele loved more than her family, close friends and her grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave. Lincoln RI on Saturday, June 8th from 9am to 11am with a funeral home service at 11am. Burial private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to help alleviate the expense of funeral costs.
