Duarte M. Furtado, 85, passed on peacefully on June 25, 2024. He was the husband of the late Lilliana J. (DaSilva) Furtado.
Born in the Azores, Portugal, he was the son of the late Manuel Francisco and Maria Furtado.
He had been employed by Stateline Scrap for 30 years. He emigrated to the United States in 1969 making Bristol and Central Falls his home. Duarte proudly became a US Citizen in 2008 but never lost his love for Portugal.
He is survived by two sons, Mario J. Furtado, his wife Marykate, Carlos A. Furtado his wife Esther, four grandchildren, Matthew, Timothy, Sydni, and Erik Furtado, a brother Carlos A. Furtado and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Jose Furtado.
His funeral will be Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 8:30am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Cumberland at 10am. Visitation will be held Friday June 28, 2024, from 4PM until 7PM.
