Martin Kofi Bannerman passed away on June 17, 2024, at Kent County Hospital in Warwick, RI. Born in Cape Coast, Ghana, he immigrated to Worcester, Massachusetts, before settling in Rhode Island where he lived for many years. Martin worked as a machinist at several local companies, including Hasbro and Texas Instruments, and retired from Sensata Technologies after a successful career spanning decades. He is survived by his siblings, Nana Bannerman-Martin and Kwesi Bannerman-Martin. Martin is also survived by his 7 children: Angela Bannerman Ankoma, Claudette Bannerman Amoako, Ebow Bannerman, Chantal Bannerman, Dominique Bannerman, Martin Bannerman Jr., and Jasmine Bannerman. Additionally, he leaves behind 8 grandchildren: Aniah Ankoma, Naseem Ankoma, Zahara Ankoma, Ezekiel Ankoma, Nehemiah Amoako, Levi Amoako, Brianna Bannerman, and Ezra Bannerman, with a 9th grandchild expected soon. Martin will be remembered for his laughter, culinary skills, and infectious personality.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 27th 2024 from 10am-11:30am followed by a service starting at 11:30am in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave. Lincoln. Burial will follow in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.
