Irene Pontbriant, age 88 of Central Falls R.I. passed away peacefully on Friday August 2, 2024 at Westerly Hospital. Irene was born in Pawtucket RI. She graduated from Tollman High School and was a lifelong resident of Central Falls. She worked much of her life as a Bar Tender until she retired, and was a long-time member of the VFW Post in Central Falls. Irene is survived by (2) daughters, Mary Pontbriant and Robin Harnois, (3) siblings, Joey Polion of Coventry, George Polion of Florida, and her sister Jackie Defond of West Warwick. (8) Grandchildren, David Pontbriant, Kayla Laperle, Jonathan Stegnick, Mark and Cyle Heaney, Crystal Pontbriant and Christian Cortez. (7) Great Grandchildren: Jaydel Hall, Kayden Laperle, Jackson Laperle, Camila Heaney, Hayley Desorcy, Austin Pontbriant, Giana Pontbriant. Irene had 3 other children (deceased) Susan Stegnick, Lisa Cortez and Bobby Pontbriant. Other siblings (deceased) Sally Bouvai, Jimmy Chapeau, Walter Polion Jr, Nancy King, and Ronnie Polion.
Service for Irene will be held at Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Higginson Ave., Lincoln R.I. on Sunday August 11th Between 2pm and 4pm.
