Charles Edouard Moreau, 87, of Cumberland, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully at home on August 20, 2024, in Cumberland. Born in Central Falls, he was a son of the late Esdras and Oglore Descoteau Moreau.
Charles was the beloved father of Frank Moreau and his wife Fatima of Somerset, MA, Chuck Moreau of Lincoln, Linda Pletch and her life partner Brenda of Gilford, NH, Theresa Hebert and her husband David of Riverside, Susan Varela and her husband David of Boynton Beach, FL, and Sandie Conley and her husband Chris of Mansfield, MA.
In addition to his loving children, he leaves behind best friend, Cathy Sylvester of Attleboro, MA, his thirteen grandchildren Kayla, Alyson, Ian, Lindsay, Nicholas, Jocelyn, Aidan, Hunter, David, Dominick, Gianna, Ashlyn, and Alanna. and nine great-grandchildren, Scarlett, Noah, Henry, Olivia, Sarah, Laura, Zahara, Kiya, and Joel.
Charles was employed as an Electrician for Corning Glass Works and Osram Sylvania for 32 years. He was also a US Navy veteran of the Korean War; he served aboard the USS Chambers DER 391.
He enjoyed spending as much time as possible with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Especially when he had “all of his birds in the nest” on occasion. He affectionately called the newborns his “little bags of gold.” He loved to cook, garden, bowl, play golf, and be a witness to his faith.
Charles lived by The Golden Rule “Do unto others as you would have them do to you.” He was a good man enjoyed by many friends.
He is preceded in death by his siblings, Roland Moreau, Lucien Moreau, Dorothy Clavet, Gerard Moreau, Andrew Moreau and Robert E. Moreau, Martha Moreau, and Rene Moreau.
A celebration of life will be at Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Higginson Avenue, Lincoln, RI 02865 on Saturday, August 31, 2024, from 3:00pm to 5:00pm. A prayer service will begin at 4:30pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his honor to the Ralph Holden Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o Bruce D. Sawyer, Attorney at Law, 511 Mendon Rd., Cumberland, RI 02864.
