It is with the deepest sadness that we share the passing of Nicholas Justyn Souza, who left us suddenly on August 26, 2024. Born on February 10, 1989, Nicholas was a beloved son whose kind soul and zest for life touched all who knew him.

Nicholas was a proud graduate of St. Raphael's Academy, where he developed his passion for sports and played football throughout his four years there. He then attended Columbia College for music production, which ultimately led him to New York City to pursue his passion for music. His incredible ear and talent for music brought joy to those around him. Nicholas cherished his family above all else and found great pleasure in life's simple moments.

Nicholas is survived by his loving mother, Fernanda Leandres, and is the son of the late Manuel Souza; two brothers, Corey and Nicholas; his loving grandparents vóvó and vovo; his tio-tio Celso; and an amazing family of caring cousins, uncles, and aunts, as well as many friends and extended family, who are all heartbroken by his untimely departure, including his adored pets, Jade, Rebel, and Manny the lizard. His memory will forever be treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A viewing will be held on Monday, September 2nd, from 4pm-7pm at the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave. in Lincoln, RI. The Mass and Nicholas’s journey to his final resting place will take place on Tuesday, September 3rd, at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Cumberland, RI, beginning at 10AM and followed by interment at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland.

In memory of Nicholas, the family invites everyone who visits to please wear a big or small touch of pink or purple, as we are sure he would appreciate our flair. His vibrant spirit and love for these colors reflected his joyful personality, and we hope to honor him in this way during the services.

Our Nicky is now at peace, and heaven has gained an angel.
