Ricky L. Saunders,47, passed away on August 31st, 2024. Ricky was born to the late Richard Thomas and late Frances Thomas (Saunders) on September 4, 1976, in Woonsocket, RI. Ricky graduated from Hope High School in Providence, RI in 1995. During high school, Ricky ran cross country track, attended the Pen Relay Races, and was the 2nd overall fastest in the entire state. Ricky attended the University of Rhode Island on a full-track scholarship and studied Computer Engineering. After college, Ricky began working as a forklift operator and later obtained a Commercial Driver’s License and drove over the road for some time.
Ricky was the father of seven wonderful and brilliant children, Rikysia Stanley, and KaSanni Stanley, both of Portsmouth, VA. Divine Young, of Providence, RI, Ricky Saunders, Jr, Nevaeh Saqunders, Neriah Saunders, and Royal Saunders of all of Charlotte, NC; siblings, Heidi Saunders, of Charlotte, NC, Zshonelle Johnson, of Providence, RI, Queshonna Ruffin of Texas City, and Ayonna Lassiter of Providence, RI; Jasmin Daniel, Atlanta,GA and Joseph Johnson, Providence, RI; nieces, Andrea Bell, of Pawtucket, RI, and Nyla Wilson of Charlotte, NC; grandmother, Maggie Bellof Providence, RI; Uncles, Allen Bell and Curtis (Shirley) Bell of Maryland, Tyrone (Leslie)Bell, of Providence, RI; aunts, Kathy Judd, Arina Riberio, Cheri Perkins, and Doreen Bell, all of Providence, RI and Lorraine Alexander, Maryland; cousins who were like brothers, Jermaine Bell, Curtis
Briggs, Justcn Bell, Julius Bell, and Javar Bell; a host of other aunts, uncles cousins, and friends, many loved ones.
Ricky was well known for always helping others, someone you can count on! He never met a stranger! His jokes, infectious laughter, and huge heart will never be forgotten.
Our family definitely has a missing piece. We will miss you!!
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 7th, 2024 from 2pm-4pm in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave. Lincoln. Burial Private.
