(Baker), 86, passed May 11th 2011. She was the wife of the late Joseph Green of Chicago, Illinois, a WWII Veteran.
Born June 19, 1924, the daughter of the late Louis Caine and Irene (Adams) Lindsey.
She worked as a caseworker for the Anti-Poverty Programs in Chicago. A talented entertainer she performed on many stages during her career as a backup dancer in variety shows in Chicago.
Betty was an animal lover devoted to the many Poodle Puppies she cared for in her lifetime. She leaves two sisters, Ruth Lavinia Dailey and Cleo Williams of Providence; and a special nephew, Richard "KC" Maynard Sr. who was her loving caregiver, and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her eleven siblings, Dorothy Maynard, Lillian Winston, Irene Baker, Edith Webster, Matthew Baker, Henry Baker, Louis Baker, Pearl Martin, Eunice Baxter, Barbara B. Almeida and Bernice Wilson.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday at 1pm in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln. Relatives and friends are invited. Betty's wake will begin at noon. Burial will be private.
