Mary M. White, lovingly known as Maggie, was born on June 2, 1945, to James White and Lula Bell Fulmore- White in Virginia. At 19, she moved north to Boston, Massachusetts, for work, and soon after, she settled in Providence, Rhode Island, where she spent the rest of her life with her partner, the late Bernice Moore.

She was the mother of Shirlean White, Roosevelt White, Faye L. White, and Martin White Jr., who embody the essence of who Mary was in every way. Mary’s deep love for family also extended to her stepchildren: Denise Prout, Jean Washington, Angel Moore, John Henry Moore Jr., and James Moore.

Mary is survived by her siblings: Jannie M. Santos, Ruth White, James White, Naomi Austin, Leroy White, Joseph White, and Jacob White. She is predeceased by Esther Townsend and Ruby White.

Mary leaves behind a legacy of love through her grandchildren, Latoya Williams, Corey White, Dwayne White, Jarrell White, Jermaine White, Joseph White, Roosevelt White Jr., Destiny Woodbury, Damonte White, and Zyaire White, as well as 13 great-grandchildren.

In addition, Mary helped raise, alongside Bernice, Tanisha, Leonard, Theodore, and Carlton Moore. She was also a loving figure to all of Bernice’s grandchildren, whom she cared for deeply.

Mary’s love extended beyond her immediate family. She treated all her nieces and nephews as if they were her own, offering them the same warmth, care, and affection. Her presence in their lives was a source of comfort and love, and they will forever cherish the memories they shared with her.

Family and friends are invited to join us in honoring her memory during the visiting hours on Thursday, September 19th, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by the homegoing service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
