Michael 'Mike' Baron was the heart of every gathering, loving husband of 55 years of Diane (Clermont) Baron, devoted father of Lisa Baron, her companion Ermelindo Moitoso and Christopher Baron, his wife Angela. His greatest joy came from bringing people together. Whether it was family celebrations or dinners with friends who quickly became family: Mike thrived in the moments when laughter, love, and music filled the room. On September 20th, 2024, we didn't just lose a devoted father and husband; we lost a beacon of warmth and togetherness. His legacy will forever be the love he shared and the connections he fostered in all our lives.
For three years, Mike fought a courageous battle with lung cancer, facing each day with quiet strength and determination. Even in the toughest moments, his resilience never wavered, and his love for his family and friends remained his driving force.
Michael was a Master licensed plumber and pipefitter and served as a former Vice President of the Master Plumbers Association. He worked with Clermont Plumbing and Heating of Pawtucket for many years. He also held a Master Electrician license and retired from the Smithfield School System as their plumber.
Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Gloria and Gilbert Aptt. He resided most of his life in Cumberland. He was an avid bowler, Beatles fan and self-taught guitarist and pianist.
Besides his wife, daughter and son, he is survived by four grandchildren Nicole Breault, Halle Baron, Paul Flanagan and Camryn Baron, two great grandchildren Leona and Morgan, his siblings, Albert Baron, Daniel Baron and Tina Dunham, his mother-in-law Jeanne D’Arc Clermont, brother in laws Guy Clermont and Rick Clermont and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Richard Baron.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 25, 2024 from 4pm until 7pm in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln. His funeral will be held Thursday, September 26, 2024 at 8:30am with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am in St. John Vianney Church, 3587 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland, RI. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Memorial gifts in memory of Michael Baron may be made to the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center in support of Cancer research.
