Claire Foran Gamache, tiny of body and steel of heart, went home to God on September 28th, 2024, 2 months shy of her 93rd birthday. She was the last of her time and part of a generation who mainly live in our hearts & memories now. She was a sister to Walter, Alfred, Frank, Mary, Agnes, Ray, & Eddy and daughter of Mary and Alfred that now the road has risen up for her to be with again.

She was the mother of Norm, Tom, & Ken and Wife of 64 years to Norman. Nana to Niki, Kyle, Michael, Tommy, Ellary, & Garet, Auntie to Donna and Mary (as well as others), Mother-in-law to Susan and Lois and favorite friend to many in her lifelong home of Central Falls, RI. Beloved neighbor of Donna (niece) and Adrian who cared for her during her more golden years as well as her son Tommy. She also has many great grandchildren who will hear her stories for years to come.

She spent her time reading, walking about the neighborhood, watching TV, raising any one that needed her, and being a safe space for many to talk to. She could make anything grow and would share the folklore of the garden with you if you sat by her in the grass; like why the Praying Mantis would protect you and why you should never kill a Dragonfly. She loved her indoor creatures too like Ginger and Inky, whom we are sure she is chasing out of heavenly traffic as we speak.
She was the first to invite you into mischief and the last to judge you. She takes some of her own secrets with her but you could always trust her with yours.

She loved her full noisy house of rambunctious boys but wished for a little girl time too. God granted that wish by giving her a daughter by way of her first daughter-in-law, Susan, with whom she remained enamored with all her life. She would see many more generations of women to continue to fill her living room for years to come. She was cared for in the end compassionately by Hope Health Hospice in Providence.

She rests in an everlasting backyard family cookout where the sun warms her face, a Virginia Slim continually lit in her hand & the laughter of her family as her permanent soundtrack.

Services will be private and in lieu of flowers, please use your hands to make something grow wherever you are in her name.

We release her in love.
